It's weird to me around the world that people seem to think the grocery retailers rip them off, when generally, they are perhaps the best-run businesses on the planet, working on razor thin margins and doing amazing customer service.
I do think people probably have the right idea in mind when they think that Rail / energy / utility companies are making bank, The fact they make so little profit seems to be a sign of mismanagement and profit taking all over the place as well as entirely messed up relationships with Government.

British supermarkets are a great consumer success story. That they can turn a profit at those razor thin margins is testament to their efficiency.
You're right that rail, energy etc failues to do similar at those prices just shows they're crap.
It's why ire is so misdirected. Don't resent good businesses making a profit. Resent bad businesses & public sector being run badly. And fix it.
